Reflections From The Other Side

Many of us avoid the issue of ghosts and the paranormal or reject the possibility because we fear them or because their existence would defy our perceptions of reality. But, what if ghosts exist and they fear the living? What if they possess a sense of humor and can be our friends? This collection of short stories addresses those questions and more. The first two stories, "Marrow Bone Road" and "The Painted Lady of Marrow Bone Road," tell the tale of the same haunting event from two perspectives, one from the side of the living and the other from ... well, the other side. They also ask the question, "Exactly who is haunting whom?" In "East Of Here," we follow the investigation of an old, Federal style house on Virginia's Eastern Shore. The protagonist, a part-time paranormal investigator, is a staunch skeptic – until his own high-tech equipment, on which he bases his conclusions, proves him wrong. "Heart To Heart" is the story of a young woman, devastated by the death of her husband on the same day as her third miscarriage, until the impossible happens and her fondest wish is granted from the other side. "Carly And Me" presents a tale of love and compassion from the other side, amidst chaos and calamity on the side of the living. "In Search of The Entailed Hat" is the story of a man inexplicably drawn to an antique book store, using his search for a favorite book as an excuse to wander around the shelves, and discovers much more about the other side than he expected. "Heartwood" shows the relationship between a man and woman, divorced after a lukewarm marriage, when the man attends his ex-wife's viewing after she is killed in a car accident and learns that their relationship was stronger than he imagined.
