I'm Not One of Us

Keester Tanner has always dreamed of escaping from everything in life that ties us down and binds us to the spot. Finally, he has done it; he hits the road and heads into an unknown and exhilirating future convinced that he will become new. His journey does not begin well and it soon becomes clear that Keester is mysteriously fixated on certain events in his own tragic history, a history that he has always known, but is unable to remember. He experiences a range of dramatic traumas and strange coincidences while travelling and is taken in by a clairvoyant named Mary, who claims to have a strong link to the past that he is trying to forget. Her home overflows with a constant stream of eccentric characters who all act as if they have known Keester for years and he begins to suspect that all is not as it seems after one resident yields to hostile impulses. Alienated from his present and future, memories begin to reveal themselves to Keester, along with his own moral infirmities and the terror of the knowledge of who he really is.
