I thought I understood this world. I thought I’d seen everything there was to see. I thought nothing else would surprise me. The world is a terrifying place filled with horrific yōkai and demonic creatures that most are blissfully unaware of. My life changed the day I met a yōkai hunter. I was thrown into a terrifying world I knew nothing about yet the encounters I had alongside this lone hunter opened my eyes to the truth. This journal documents the first year I spent with a yōkai hunter. It details the horrific beings we encountered, how we avoided death each time and how ultimately I was able to survive.
