It is later discovered that the amulet belonged to a Filipino martial artist from the late 1800s, a member of the revolution against Spain. The life of the martial artist is revealed to Jason, and the legacy of the amulet lives on. The Amulet is Roy Fune's debut novella, and is based on traditions and Filipino history passed down from his Filipino martial arts grandmasters.
