Pete has always known Creek Valley is a horrible place to live. How could he not? Not after personally growing up in the town and witnessing some of the, ahem, stranger occurrences around town. But all things considered, the town was still home to him and his three friends, and there had been a time when the idea of leaving Creek Valley had been so entirely foreign to Pete that he had dismissed it outright. Sure, Creek Valley was a haunted, bizarre hellhole, but it was his hellhole. Of course, that was before Pete went on an unfortunate camping trip and sort of become responsible for killing a dude. That kind of thing has a way of messing with your head something fierce. So for the past eight years Pete has worked in retail hell in New York, refusing to even acknowledge the thought of ever going back... But when his father ends up dead and senile, long-time Creek Valley benefactor Jeffery Byzantine involves Pete's old friends in a search for something ridiculously elusive, Pete has no choice but to come home and put some demons to rest, and hopefully, keep anyone else from ending up dead. But what he'll find on this camping trip is something far worse than what he ever expected- wrapped up in a heaping helping of Creek Valley oddness to boot.
