Mary Magdalene's iPhone

This is an irreverent and irreligious novel about what might be considered the most unlikely of couples – thrown together by fate, chance, or perhaps, but not likely, a higher power. When Miriam Jaffe, a 16-year old girl from Beverly Hills is struck by lightning, she ends up in a coma but awakens in the small village of Magdala, near the Sea of Galilee, with nothing but her new iPhone and her wits. She’s immediately befriended by Yeshua (Hebrew for Jesus) of Nazareth, a failed prophet with a big heart for anyone in need. Yeshua falls under the spell of the playfully devious and precocious Miriam, who is mistaken for an angel sent by God due to her “magic talisman” (iPhone) and allowed to “help” Yeshua with his ministry. The story weaves back and forth between the comatose Miriam in Beverly Hills, and her life in ancient times with a man who’s about to become one of the most controversial figures in the history of the world.
