Fiction/Paranormal Re-done, Beta read, Proofread, Grammar checked New edition 08/27/2015. A baby born to the richest plantation owner in the state of Missouri. She was brought into the house in the middle of the night, but she was never allowed to leave. Ever. What happened to Elisabeth McBride? The only two eyewitnesses aren't talking. How come the slaves didn't see anything? Or did they? Where did she go? Excerpt: A small voice came from the other side of the door. "Be quiet! Did you hear that?" Jack said. "Shh." Alice put her finger to her lips. The small voice came again, but she couldn't make out the words. "What if someone's in there?" Alice grabbed the doorknob again, shaking it with all her strength. "What if someone's been trapped in that room for years and no one has known it?" "Get a grip, Alice, no one's trapped in the room," Jack sighed with impatience. "I didn't hear a thing." "Do you know that for sure, Jack? It is an abandoned mansion. What if there's a little kid trapped inside? Or maybe someone kidnapped her and locked her up in this room. Maybe there's an evil, wicked man who has kept her locked up inside of this room all this time, and he's using her for his own sexual pleasures. We have to help her! Come on! Help me open this door!" Alice shouted, yanking on the door. Jack cupped his hands around Alice's and yanked on the doorknob. The door didn't budge. A small whimper from inside of the room grew louder. "Let me out!" the small voice cried from inside. Someone or something was behind the locked door.
