Elise Cummings has waited sixty years for this moment. Linda Smith is one of the fortunate students selected to attend the spanking new all-girl prep school on the banks of the Raritan River in New Jersey. The overweight and no-esteem girl sees it as an escape from high-school and three years of disinterested male faces. Linds soon finds, however, that nothing has changed: she is just as lonely in her new scholastic environment as she used to be. The girl takes to wandering down to the river's edge at lunchtime. There, she finds what she is desperately in search of: a new friend.
