Men being taken advantage of, forced into menial donkey work (literally in one case) but usually as the uniformed maid for the Master and Mistresses who take them into their service and ownership. Donkey; lady takes volunteer aid worker Peter as a stand-in donkey for African peasant family whose donkey goes lame. Cape Town; Jeff’s obsession with rain capes mean he’s used as a shop-window dummy, sold him into service as Jenny, a housemaid. She takes up with boss, he’s housemaid slave to friends, serves dinner to ex-wife, new husband. A Friend In Need; moves to London to stay with older boy friend from school, finds his room full of girlie clothes, dresses in them, only to be taken out and sold into whoredom. Maid By Marriage; married for mum to train him as her maid. Staying With Aunty; he dresses in his girl cousins’ clothes in secret; forced to wear girls’ clothes all the time and work as their maid. Travellers Trials; back-packer forced into nappies as a girl-baby, offered the life of a feminised servant girl or African jail. Relative Conversation; uncle prostitutes his nephew.
