This story is set in the south coast town of Port Albion in the year 1994.Nurse Alicia Gray is a quiet, unassuming person, totally dedicated to the patients of the burns unit at Port Albion's general hospital. Grantham Toames, the insular and perverted voyeur, is working on a secret but meaningful relationship with her.Some of the characters also appear in the novel "Waiting in the Cold, Cold Ground" by the same author.
