THE DECOMPOSER: a horror short story

How far would you go to bring them back?Renowned music composer Alexander Ward is grief-stricken from the loss of his wife, Charlotte, causing him to recede from the public eye and into a depressing life of seclusion. For months, Alexander visits his deceased wife's grave site in the backyard of his very own estate and often indulges in copious amounts of alcohol and laudanum to ease his suffering.Alexander meets a mysterious and peculiar antiquarian, Lawrence Colby, who knows of Alexander's loss and claims to possess an instrument capable of summoning wayward souls from beyond the grave. Initially, Alexander dismisses the man's offer, yet his desperation to be united with his wife once more urges him to amuse Lawrence's claims. Alexander plays a song dedicated to his deceased wife in hopes her spirit will grace its presence upon him, and with it comes more than Alexander had expected. What is the dreadful instrument Alexander has acquired? And what has it brought along with it?**The Decomposer is a horror short story which carries tones of Lovecraftian fiction and supernatural, ghost stories.**
