One Life is Not Enough

Written with panache in the tradition of Dion Fortune, Mary Bishop regales us with a compelling story based on two lives time-lines of intertwined relationships, illustrating Spiritual Truths of the consequences for one’s actions through time and space. The author, authoritatively versed in matters Spiritual, presents the principles of reincarnation, life after death and the persistence of patterns called ‘karma’, in an easy-to-understand way, through storytelling. It feels like a channelled piece of writing. The characters are detailed, relatable, and convincing, and the clusters of relationships believable from the first encounter to the end of the tale in another time and place. The historical settings are authentic and well described and the language used is time appropriate.

From the Inside Flap

The book deals with the subject of karma and reincarnation, helping others to learn how the soul grows from understanding the lessons gained from living on the earth; returning again from the spiritual realms to further grow and to remedy any negative events that have arisen from earlier incarnations.

From the Back Cover

'The child was born in the August of 1739 as a violent storm raged in a dark purple sky over the Palace of Versailles. Her first cry coincided with a tremendous bolt of lightning followed immediately by a loud clap of thunder. The midwife's face creased with concern, as it was considered to be a bad omen to give birth during a thunderstorm, as Odette, her eyes wide open, gripping the midwife's hand, struggled with the labour pains to bring her first child into the world. They were all blissfully unaware of the havoc this child would bring and the dire events that would follow.'
