August 1967 and rookie policewoman, Beryl Bumstead, is enjoying working in the sea side village of Pig Trotter Bay. On a ghost walk round the village, one evening, she is told about a murder of a 14 year old girl in 1916. The man who was hanged for the murder, known as the Pig Trotter Phantom. is said to haunt the graveyard where the murder took place. The body was arranged in a certain way. Then, later in the week, there is another murder with the exact same MO. Beryl is convinced the two cases must be linked but who will believe her, after 51 years? She decides to investigate herself with the help of a local historian, Cedric Cairns. But will she find the link and will it lead her into real danger?
