Nedra Beckett and her brothers have a secret the people in the town of Joy (somewhere in the Old West near Laramie) know nothing about. They only know that since they hanged Jayce Treml for unspeakable offenses against one of their own, they have been plagued by sightings of strange beasts and even stranger deaths. Some speculate that there must be dangerous circus animals loose. One rancher even offers a ten dollar gold piece to any cowhand who can bring them down. All to no avail. The killings continue. Now Nedra and her brothers have but one desire (besides avenging Jayce Treml's death). They want desperately to return to their beloved Whitechapel and normalcy.
