A clean paranormal romance. Captain Sam Strait's best friend, Buck was killed saving two of his co-workers from a runaway log truck. Sam availed himself of military transport to return home to be with his family and to attend the funeral. When he arrived, he found Buck's sister, Michelle, had taken off for the forested mountain wilderness. When she doesn't return after several .days, he joins up with his Gyp, another best friend and Asa, Buck and Michelle's brother and they set off in search of her trail. They pick up the trail and follow it, even though they have an eerie feeling they are being stalked. A huge creature confronts them and they prepare to defend themselves when Michelle's voice stops them. She had been befriended by a female Sasquatch and her baby. They learn she had been captured by rogue Sasquatches, and then rescued by the patriarch of a family of friendlies. Read about the ensuing battle between the good and the bad Sasquatch males.
