A gnarled old horned Goat of a rebellious Sorcerer Artist called Faustus Crow has conjured up a most wanton Succubus named Mephistophina amidst his triangle of art lucid dreams, with whom he has entered into a Coitus Pactum. Mephistophina informs Crow, as his Artists Muse, on how to enter into alternate realities via his occult paintings, which become as trance doorways into other dream worlds. Crow's dreams start to become more real than his present reality, who soon finds himself entering into a hellish alternate reality of a Steampunk Londonium. It is amidst the labyrinthine guts of an alternate Londinium, Crow meets up with the Queen of Succubae called Lilith, whose salacious feminine wiles invariably seduces Crow to become involved in an ongoing war spanning the myriad alternate worlds of the multiverse.
