Highway To Heaven

An old man dies and his spirit goes to Heaven, so far so normal, but the events that follow turn out to be entirely different to anything he had ever imagined in his mortal life. He discovers that the place where he finds he is governed by very strict rules, many of which goes against the grain, especially when he has to account for all the bad things he did when he was alive on Earth. As a learning curve, one of his tasks is to be sent back to Earth as an Accompanying Angel to report on a Seraph, reporting to anyone is more than little annoying after you've died and he soon finds he has to unravel a situation that could affect the entire planet. He also meets the Cosmic Joker who take him to Hell with surprising results and, very clearly, spirit life is nothing like he had expected. In due course, he considers that he may not be in Heaven but in Purgatory and his main task is to avoid the Soul Gatherer who consumes the souls of the spirits so that they vanish forever. This book takes the reader into the next world... after he or she has finished in this one!
