Seer (Guardians of the Word Book 6)

Bodies lie strewn on the Throne Room floor. The blood of the dead and the dying pools on black marble. Seeping down through the merest cracks in the floor, one fatal drop touches the Sacred Seal. A hole in the fabric of time opens. The Demon’s Horde waits on the other side. It is the Seer’s vision and her visions are never wrong. Only Carryn Adaeryn can stop it from coming true. It is her brother, mocking her, telling her she will fail at every turn. And she is terrified Maralt is right. Every tenet she holds close will be tested. Every truth is bent. The souls of the lost and the living can survive only if she doesn’t fail. All the long years of struggle are in peril. No one is safe. When the rules change, nothing is certain. Action and reaction determine Carryn’s choices and alter the course of time. The massacre is nearly complete. The battle for survival goes on. There’s only one other who can face the terrible truth. Chosen by attrition. Can he hold the battle lines? Or will he succumb to the overwhelming allure of absolute power. Will he finally defeat his fear or will evil take his soul? There’s no one to guide him, and the path ahead is littered with deceit and deception and death. Somehow, Marc Talryn has to find a way to save them all. It isn’t so easy to kill a telepath. Or contain him. Seer is the Sixth Chronicle of the Guardians of the Word, an Epic Science Fiction Fantasy that is suitable for mature young adults. The Chronicles are Chosen, Myth, Telepath, Legend, Union, Seer, Adept, and King.

About the Author

Author Jolea M. Harrison has been writing for as long as she can remember, when around the age of eight she dreamed up an epic tale of a young princess in search of the King's approval, who went out and killed the evil monster none of the knights could slay! This short story was even illustrated on 3 x 5 cards! After reading The Lord of the Rings, the fantasy bug left a permanent mark, which was then complicated by her immediate love of Star Wars and other works of science fiction.  She started her writing career in earnest about 10 years ago when she set out to publish the science fantasy series, the Guardians of the Word, which is eight books in length. After receiving her fair share of typical agent rejection notices, she decided to independently publish the first book of the series, Chosen, in June, 2011. Myth, Telepath, Legend, Union, and Seer followed over the course of the year. The remaining books Adept, and King will be released in approximately three-month intervals. "It's been more than worth it, and I've enjoyed every minute, but especially getting to know the incredibly helpful and wonderful people I've met because I took a leap of faith. I'm a writer, a mother and manager of chaos. I try to do too many things at once, like so many of us, but it all usually works out. I love writing. It's what I'm passionate about and what I want to do above all other things." Her other interests are gardening and maintaining her Civil War era home. On a recent fact finding mission about the house, she discovered the name of a young soldier who died there while being cared for by the doctor who owned the house at the time. Sometimes in the evening mists, it's not unusual to see the shapes of soldiers marching across the fields or hear 'something' climbing the stairs. She has two children who firmly believe in ghosts.
