Of Beasts and Men

When every human dies they have a choice. They can accept death, and cease to exist or make a deal with an elder god and return to this world as Reborn. Rebirth gives power, but an endless thirst for souls. One such Reborn arrives in New York and must quickly pick to join the local lords to gain feeding rights. To be granted this he goes with three other indentured vassals to simply buy a factory in Norway. Things quickly devolve as the purchase is just bait to smoke out an enemy of the leader of the Reborn world, a quadriplegic but powerful psionic. To complicate this our antihero is a double agent unbeknownst to himself, a carrier of a mental parasite. After a game of cat and cat, the final battle is in the minds of the great mentalists. In a chaotic ever changing landscape the characters must learn about faith, love, abuse, and what it means to pick the lesser evil.Beasts and Men is a dark and gritty book trying to show the worst in men’s hearts. Their world is violent and uncaring. There is little difference between friends and enemies. Everyone is always out for just themselves. But yet, in all the darkness there is a glimmer of light, friendship, and the will for a man to go on day after day.Of Beasts and Men is a standalone novel. It is part of the Last Lullabies universe.
