About the Author

Richard Marsh (18571915) was a bestselling and prolific author of the late nineteenth century and the Edwardian period. He is best known now for his supernatural thriller novel The Beetle, which was published the same year as Bram Stokers Dracula, and was initially even more popular. Marsh produced nearly eighty volumes of fiction and numerous short stories, in genres including horror, crime, romance, and humor.
