About the Author

E.S. Oakes lives in a semi-rural town in southern California, where she gets to look to the east and see the Cleveland National Forest in the near distance. Oakes lives there with her husband, two sons, a cat named Tux, and a horde of untamed hummingbirds. Like most independent authors, E.S. Oakes has a day job. She teaches middle school English and social science. During the summer, she enjoys freelance book editing. When she is not working, Oakes spends as much time as possible in nature, preferably in the mountains, where she hikes and volunteers as a forest fire lookout.
