Hunter Cameron is a successful student and author, living on his own in a city, hanging out with friends and doing well in his classes. Life is great, except for the strange hallucinations and nightmarish insomnia. All that changes, however, when he goes to visit his brother in a nearby city. The rules of reality shift and bend, and he finds himself trapped in a police station with murderous animate corpses—and a deadly creature that seems designed especially for him. Can he survive long enough to unravel the mysterious circumstances surrounding him, the mystery of the Dark Thirteen? If he does, will it be enough to save the world, or is it all just a prelude of things to come?
