Avery and her great-aunt Pearl were the black sheep of the family, and also the best of friends. Avery was a self-made loner that lived vicariously through Aunt Pearl’s incredible, exciting and sometimes Ludacris stories. “The portals, Avery. You just have to find the right portal.” That’s what Pearl had always told her. Of course, Aunt Pearl was crazy. At least, that’s what the rest of the family said. The Stone family are a family of mediums, or ghost whisperers if you will. As far as they were concerned, Avery and Pearl didn’t have the sight. However, when Pearl dies suddenly, Avery ends up being dragged into a treasure trove of family secrets that will shatter her entire world as she knows it.
