Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Dr Jekyll, a "large, well-made, smooth-faced man of fifty", occasionally feels he is battling between the good and evil within himself, thus leading to the struggle between his dual personalities of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. He has spent a great part of his life trying to repress evil urges that were not fitting for a man of his stature. He creates a potion in an attempt to mask this hidden evil within his personality.

Robert Louis Stevenson (Author)Robert Louis Stevenson was born in Edinburgh in 1850. The son of a prosperouscivil engineer, he was expected to follow the family profession but was finallyallowed to study law at Edinburgh University. Stevenson reacted forcibly againstthe Presbyterianism of both his city's professional classes and his devoutparents, but the influence of Calvinism on his childhood informed the fascinationwith evil that is so powerfully explored in Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Stevensonsuffered from a severe respiratory disease from his twenties onwards, leadinghim to settle in the gentle climate of Samoa with his American wife, FannyOsbourne.Bryan Hitch (Illustrator)Bryan Hitch is a British comic book artist. Hitch began his career in the UnitedKingdom for Marvel UK, working on titles such as Action Force andDeath'sHead, before gaining prominence on American titles such as Wildstorm'sStormwatch andThe Authority, DC Comics' JLA, and Marvel Comics' TheUltimates.Hitch's artwork and designs have appeared in direct-to-video animated films, television, and major feature films, such as the 2009 film Star Trek.
