The heroine of my book, Rowan Mitchell, owns a tea shop in Valparaiso, Indiana that she inherited from family. She also sells crystals and gemstones, herbs, teas and other pieces of interest, through holy cards and bibles. She She has become very successful and one of her best friends, Adrienne Rogers, bought the shop and it is ultra-successful. Rowan, on the other hand, is bored. Her tea shop, the second one she opened, is a success as well and she doesn’t want to spend all of her time there. Used to be her whole life. Rowan has a past with Jake Reynolds from high school but they have resolved their differences and Rowan helped him with some difficulties he had with his shop. Jake is a local businessman. He started an engraving business on his own for engraving motorcycle parts which is doing quite well nationwide. He has orders coming in from all over the country as his work speaks for itself in its results so he is kept busy. Unfortunately, he’s all caught up and needs some extra income. Rowan has a roommate, Raven. She has an active social life and dresses for the situation that calls for it. Her favorite attire seems to be from the 1920s. She appears often to offer complaints, sometimes advice. Calliope O'Toole is Rowan's best friend and she owns He Ain't Here. She likes her job for the most part though working days and sometimes nights due to remodeling drives her crazy. She lives with her boyfriend, Bryce Litton, who is an FBI agent assigned to recent murders in the area. Bryce Littleton is an FBI agent assigned to a series of murders in Porter County and meets Calliope at the bar she owns, and conveniently he also invested in the tavern. Their relationship evolves as time passes and the murders progress. They are absolutely crazy about each other.
