Pete’s Pizza and More was Pete Darvill’s dream. A small restaurant just off the highway, it was his home away from home, his paradise. It turned into a nightmare one evening when a zombie gang descended upon it, leaving Pete the soul survivor of the attack. Bitten and changing, Pete has found himself in the same boat as his two closest friends Aubrey and Marissa, among the supernatural beings of their community. Now facing prejudiced and looked upon as a potential leader for the disenfranchised, Pete must work out the path for his future, and possibly the future for all monster kind.Not all vampires, Marissa of Sterbia can tell you, live in Gothic mansions on hills. At 587 years old, she’s struggling to make ends meet and working as a server at Pete’s Pizza and More. But at over half a century, she finds her life changing in ways she never expected when she meets the werewolf Aubrey. For the first time in her life she finds herself becoming friends with the vampire’s mortal enemy, and perhaps something more.While these changes to their lives unfold, the trio find themselves at ground zero of a monster revolution, a Supernatural Civil Rights Movement, that threatens to spill out into a full scale war if they can’t get to the bottom of who is targeting humans in mass and put a stop to it. Of course they have to stop a civil war, unravel a mystery, and sort out their love lives while still getting to work. If they can’t hold down steady jobs they face much worse than their lights getting cut or getting evicted. They could be banished from the city.
