“Sirius City” is the author’s attempt at synthesizing literary form with philosophical content. A string of mysterious suicides of revered scientists take place in a small science town. The top investigator – who has an affinity for philosophy and solving complex riddles – is on the case. All clues lead to Sirius, a virtual city-state created by a sophisticated A.I. system that soon will take over all of modern civilization. The reader will follow the adventurers on their quest in this city-state and find if it is capable of bringing them happiness; whether the investigator’s hobbies will be helpful in the investigation and, most importantly, will the catastrophe be averted. The novel’s themes are in the same vein as George Orwell’s “1984”, Stanislav Lem’s “Solaris”, Evgeniy Zamyatin’s “We” and other dystopian works. It is filled with plot twists, philosophical musings and irony.
