One good man's vision for a weapon to end a war is well on the way to completion. However, the guiding hands of the Nazi war machine have other ideas about how it should be used. When personal tragedy strikes and he can go no further, his vision becomes a corrupted obsession, in which he is driven to seek revenge upon those who deprived him of all he held dear. Commander James Forrester's life seems stuck in a rut, no excitement or prospects in sight. Held back from any further career opportunities by a jealous commanding officer, Forrester is at a loss as to how his future should proceed. All that is about to change with an encounter that forces him to rethink everything as he fights to survive and protect all he has been questioning for so long. One old sailor is also questioning why he allowed himself to be drummed out of active service and put behind a desk, while his friend is struggling to come to terms with the fast changing pace of the modern navy. Will they feel useful once again? This remains to be seen.
