Enigma in Edmond is the fifth book in the Traveler's Carnival and Sideshow series. Since Madame Esmeralda's death, her twin granddaughters, Nadya and Tanya Brighton, have taken over for her. The twins are middle school teachers and have taken a two-year leave of absence to travel with the carnival. It is a well-known fact that trouble seems to follow them around. Edmond is no exception. Many puzzling things occur, and this time Madame Esmeralda's letter causes a mystery for its recipient, the mayor, Lionel Richardson. The Chief of Police, Robert Mullins, is also not a fan of the carnival. However, after meeting Madame Esmeralda's spirit, his attitude quickly changes. The twins are kept busy with Madame Esmeralda's regular clients and the usual palm readings, seance, crystal ball, and finding things. Despite all the drama, Stephen and Tanya manage to have their first date, However, the gift he wants to give Tanya only creates a bigger enigma. Is it real or not? Could Stephen be a wizard?
