TALLFALLS: or How Jamie Thornton probably saved the world

Set in the late 1950's Jamie a young very smart Scots lad finds himself transported to Tallfalls, one of the finest schools in the land. There he befriends Freddy and Lynda, two very different twins. It turns out that Tallfalls is one of the few oasis of magic in a dwindling magical resource on Earth. Hector the school's head janitor being a very powerful wizard detects the latent magical powers in Jamie and commences training him in the use of his new-found powers. As Jamie's power increases the three friends, Jamie, Freddy and Lynda using Jamie's magic to gain access explore the closed off parts of the ancient school and they find that all is not as it seems. They are warned off exploring but continue to do so and eventually discover that a great evil has been lurking in the bowels of the school for centuries. Jamie and his friends eventually do battle with this evil and drive it away but as it goes it vows revenge on the boy who has defeated him. As Jamie's power continues to grow the friends range further afield and make friends and enemies, some human, some not so human and some definitely not human at all. They confront evil wherever they find it but always at the back of Jamie's mind is the desire to finally conquer the great evil that was Golgoroth who he had driven from the school. Golgoroth meanwhile has found help after being driven from the school and recovers nursing a hatred for Jamie. Golgoroth's desire for revenge on Jamie escalates to the point where he wants to destroy not just the boy but all of humanity. There can only be one outcome, an eventual confrontation between Jamie and his small group of friends, old and new and the large evil army that Golgoroth has assembled. The outcome of the battle is uncertain but one thing is absolutely certain only Jamie now the most powerful wizard born in a millennium has the power to stand against this great threat. .
