The Drouhin of Shaddimur

The Drouhin of Shaddimur is a fantasy novel set in an area of independent city states. The Drouhin is a distrusted outsider in the city of Shaddimur, living by solving crimes that baffle the city watch. He is helped by his apprentices; Yanni, a foul-mouthed gutter urchin, and Mardenifol, a noble’s unwanted son with a predilection for chemistry. At a time of high tension as war looms between the states, a killer has been assassinating high-ranking members of Shaddimur society. The Drouhin must somehow solve the puzzles left by a renegade spy and prevent the threatened war by finding conclusive proof of the identity of the killer using nothing more than mediaeval forensics and his wits. And he must do it before the xenophobic leaders of Shaddimur use him as a scapegoat.
