Josh and Benji had been friends since high school and had gone to University together, Josh to study teaching and become a Phys-Ed teacher and Benji to become a manual arts teacher. Their studies over, they had always planned a trip to Europe and Egypt before starting their new jobs and booked their backpacking holiday. They were excited as neither had ever been overseas before, and Cairo was to be their first stop. They barely made it to the airport before their flight, being very hung over from their last night's celebrations. While waiting for their flight to board, they do not notice they are being observed. On arrival in Cairo, they book a trip to the Pyramids and purchase water from a nearby roadside stall. They are drugged, placed at a murder scene then sentenced to death by a Shari court. A person sentenced to death can be bought as a slave and this is done with Josh and Benji. They are taken to a marble quarry where they are turned into man-animals and used as beasts of burden to haul marble from the quarry. They endure this treatment for 2 years before a private detective, hired by Josh's father, discovers their whereabouts and notify's police. A story of fiction about the White Slave Trade in the Middle East.
