Across the Great Arch, far to the west, the matriarchal world of Vestriland faces attack from ShadowVale, the Demon Queen of the Southern Unknown. The races of Vestriland are divided, leaving the star guardians alone to defend the southern Shadow Wall. The elfin households bicker, the humans stay in their great cities, the trolls in the mountains, and distrust grows. Trelaar starts his journey west across the Great Arch, but shadows dog his every step slicing death into his rag tag group. A scarred captain of the star guardians travels Vestriland in an effort to unite the races but is intercepted and sidetracked by a dark elf. In a strange journey the dark elf leads her into the shadowed lands of the Missing Sister Star, taking her far from the battle brewing in the south.
