The Writing ExperienceNestled in the heart of Amish country I, Andrew James Kinsey, live in Lancaster County, PA. This place is beat, it's a quiet community of people who care way too much about each other, and I'm just spoiling their "fun." Beginning this story, I was living in my city apartment, but when I took on this piece, I knew there was only one place I could work on it. That was my parents' rural place in this aforementioned Amish country, and now I'm here working on a defining piece of my writing career.Hiking when it all hit me, the meaning behind what I wanted to say in the writing. It was at Tucquan Glen that I realized I wanted to write about death, but creating a story that would tie it together in a neat package was lost on me. Death engulfed my life, my twin cousins and grandmother passed away, and at that moment when I was surrounded by family at the funeral home I knew what I was doing was venting frustration accompanied by grief, through my imagination based storyline.I started feeling like a dead man talking, so I focused on the aesthetics of words. I started valuing sentimentality over fundamentality, my sensitivity makes me fragile. I chose the fantasy genre because it allowed me to be over the top and extravagant, it opened the door to infinite possibilities. On the writing experience overall, I just hope you can find as much joy from it as I've had writing because, to tell the truth honestly, this story scares me to death.
