Anointed by Shadow

An Angel accepts a heart call for companionship. She spends many dreams with the mysterious man until they become so real she crosses over into his world - an act that is forbidden. Cast out of Heaven, the Angel finds refuge with the High Priest of Light at a place where the inhabitants worship the Light side of God. Unfortunately, not even a place as holy as the Monastery of Light can repress the desperate call. Each answer to that call grants her purification in the form of punishment with each one harsher than the last. Damion, High Priest of Shadow, begins having disturbing dreams of passion that he cannot suppress. Hours of meditation and physical exhaustion are no match for his desperate need for the mysterious woman in his dreams. When he seeks out solitude and meditation, he finds that instead of praying to the Heavens he sends out another desperate plea. The Angel answers, and he realizes he cannot deny his desire for her. When she is pulled away, disappearing in a state of fear, he vows to find and protect her from whomever might wish her harm. During her greatest punishment yet, the Angel pleas for anything but the cleansing the High Priest of Light has determined will wash away her sins. Damion discovers his Angel amidst her punishment. He looks on fearful that he cannot save her from it. The Angel begs him to call her to him so that she might be lost in spirit to avoid the pain. Damion gives her the passion she needs to ignore the pains of her body. When their embrace ends, they both realize he called her entire person - body and soul - to him. Damion plans to confront his brother, the High Priest of Light. The Angel will not allow him to fight this battle alone. Together the pair meet the High Priest of Light and his followers. A battle ensues between Light and Shadow. Passion strengthens the power of Shadow the Angel and the Priest stand against the High Priest of Light.
