The Return

A novel of love and horror in New Orleans. “Never go back. She can be anyone, take any form,” were his mother's last words before committing suicide. Advice quickly forgotten by Michael who sails through life until he tries to sell his family’s abandoned plantation. But when loved ones mysteriously begin to die and his girlfriend disappears, he's forced to descend to the underworld to confront the malevolent creature his mother warned him about.

About the Author

Marta was born in Colombia, South America and raised in New Orleans. Horror, Magical Realism and myth have been part of her world since childhood. She explored those realms in two photography books. Carnival Dreams: Unmasking the Spirit is an emotional reveal of the souls hiding under Mardi Gras masks. The House on Rue Burgundy evokes the Storyville era of New Orleans with nude infrared photos, paintings and poetry. The Return is Marta's first novel. She's presently writing Bloodline: A Winter's Child, the horror fantasy of a dysfunctional shapeshifting family.
