The Order of St. Michael is the leading force against supernatural threats in the Crescent City. Colin Damphries, the leader of the Order in New Orleans, is used to situations arising which require all of his will and cunning. Yet, even for Colin, events are occurring which will require more from him than ever. A murder violates a treaty that has kept the witch community from open warfare for over a century. A delegation from the vampire hierarchy is in town and they are requesting assistance in hunting down a rogue, who has left a trail of corpses across the Gulf Coast. To make matters even more interesting, animated corpses are appearing in the city, foretelling the return of past sins and dire consequences to be paid. For Colin and his allies, the city is on the verge of anarchy and time is running out before chaos erupts.
