We have as problematic of the history the legend of this beast in a mixture of man with wolf that arrived at Brazil according to the Spanish and Portuguese legends, speaking roughly, would be the "cursed" that of a human being turns into a wild beast without control. A fantastic being - probably some kind of monster - who would choose one person to bite and turn her into another beast for the rest of her life, leading to chaos and disorder on full moon nights.
