Craig's no hero. In fact, he's not even much of a kid - he's awkward, panicky and a straight-C student. Craig's got only one friend, and one major thorn in his side. They happen to be the same person: Jackie Parker. At fourteen, Jackie's no role model. She steals, starts fires, and raises Hell everywhere she goes. If the kids who terrorize Craig on a daily basis don't get him killed, Jackie probably will. One night Jackie ropes Craig into sneaking out after dark. But what at first seems like another misadventure becomes a fight for survival when they come under attack by all the monsters of Urban Folklore - Chupacabras, Mothmen and Things without Name are literally infesting the town of Shadow Creek. Armed to the teeth with improvised monster-slaughtering weaponry, Jackie and Craig are forced to enlist other kids - both friends and foes - in the fight against the otherworldly onslaught. But what, exactly, is unleashing them? And are Jackie and Craig strong enough to face this evil.....at its source?
