Since 1851, the small Welsh border town of Cenin Pedr has held a dark murderous secret. For a century and a half, locals have been made blind to the existence of an evil society formed under their very noses. The Black Dirk, led by the evil Lord Letum, survives by feeding off the Morsus (the pain) of those poor souls caught in the Chasm between life and death. Together, the living and the dead seek to unearth a litany of lies that has haunted generations. By finally revealing the truth, can they put right the damage wrought by the evil society and bring it to an end, freeing those trapped in its merciless grip? Will the doubts of the living undermine the hopes of those desperate souls or can one young girl and her adult brothers finally tip the balance and point the way to the truth? With the help of a trio of young ghosts and a graveyard of memorable characters, surely there can be only one answer?
