Ghost In The Tank (Beowolff's Handpicked Tales of Strange War)

(Short Story) Sergeant Malhony, a seasoned Sherman tank commander, had been on the sharp end a little too long. He was having trouble sleeping, almost every night re-living the loss of the "first" Sally that had been ambushed by a German Tiger and knocked out. And that was bad enough. But then his gunner (that had died in that same fight) strangely started paying him social visits when no one else was around...and that was almost too much to take. Not sure if the astral Wayford is a figment of his crazy imagination or a real, honest to God spook, Malhony is forced to try and keep it all together in the middle of brutal combat against enemy armor that is far superior to his own, Sally II. With both Wayford's ghostly visits "and" the firefights with the enemy getting worse and worse, he does know one thing clearly; something's gotta' give! And sure enough, something eventually does. Blazing hot WW2 tank combat action mixed with the blood chilling prospect of a possible supernatural haunting!
