The book contains paranormal in various forms and flavors. We find a mother who sacrifices her tastebuds for the love of her children, a man who is possessed by an evil spirit, a woman who encounters an unknown lady on her terrace, and a small mud dollhouse that remains intact while other parts of the house go into decay. The stories range in theme from sacrifice, horror, mystery, to greed and are suitable to be read by all ages. Review by Vicarious Living ‘Gaya’ by Payal Sinha is a short anthology comprised of mystifying, cultural short stories entrenched in the ancient but spiritual city of Bihar. With an introduction about Gaya’s prominence in the Hindu culture, it's well documented and recognized origins in the great epics of ancient India and the eerie devices the city holds, this surely is an interesting setting to explore stories of the supernatural, both spooky and unsettling with an element of thrill. Review by Aina on Goodreads Horror stories originating from folklore and ancient histories are among my favourite kind of scares. These type of stories are grounded in truth and feel more real. This book is a collection of short stories taking place in the city of Gaya in India. I’m not familiar with the city but the stories are vibrant and descriptive enough to immerse myself in the culture.
