A friend of mine always said that stupidity is forever. That we follow the same routine that our fathers follow. If I heed to his warning, I probably wouldn't be in this wasteland. Trying to escape from a broken heart, I ended up in a Desert hellhole far from home. The heat is merciless, the water-scarce, and the enemy worse than a plague of locust. But most of all, the incompetent of our leaders were wearing us all down. As death comes ever so close, I knew there is no chance I will see home. For home was nothing more than a torturous dream. There is nothing for me but my canteen, my gun, and my brothers in arms.
