Together with the monk Martinus, who took care of him until he was healthy again, he fights against the undead. Revenge and his desire to survive against an officer in Colonia who once betrayed him and his brother are his only motives to keep on moving. The fight against the living dead in the hunger-swept winter wasteland is exhausting and demands the utmost from the survivors. While reading, one wonders how the author wants to find a way out of this apocalyptic man’s hopeless madness. It is certainly not for the weak-hearted!
