Detective Jeremiah Trogdon dies and discovers the afterlife is as simple as Heaven or Hell, but learns neither are what he could have imagined. Due to his seeing Hell he is unable to enjoy his heavenly paradise, and asks to be fixed, but is denied. Instead he is given a mission to return to Hell, and in exchange God will give him the capacity to enjoy Heaven. In order to ensure Trogdon's compliance, though, he is also given some incentive.
