From the Back Cover

"The ghouls were supposed to be cold, slow, silent, patient things, something less than alive, but something more than dead. It was said they could dine for a very long time on the corpse of a victim, as they needed little and minded decay not at all.""Folk other than human went about their business as well in this most cosmopolitan of all cities. Dwarves with their glimmering gold-bronze skin and red beards like flame, huge lumbering Ogres with tusked mouths and hairless chins, apelike Garks, a few of the hairy and hoofed wild folk from the plains of Ruun, far inland, and even some of the tall slender serpent people from Tarai, southeast beyond Sarsa, crossed paths as if they did so every day. In Zakran, they in fact might.""Inina walked casually along the Street of Vipers in the predawn darkness, her shining black hair bouncing in three large braids down her back, and her hips swinging freely below her slender waist. A little bag was slung across her shoulder. It had been a good haul tonight.""Out on the streets, men searched for them with gold and power on their minds and death in their hearts"

About the Author

Author of fantasy and science fiction. My work commonly features themes of freedom, control, and conflict. Often dark. Strong protagonists who dare what others do not, but are rarely shining heroes. Antagonists who are sometimes noble, sometimes horrific, but always have reasons for their actions.Angst is foreign to me, and to write it, I'd have to fake it. If you prefer fearful, self-doubting main characters, you'll dislike mine. If you prefer humble main characters who always make selfless choices, you'll hate mine.Published Novels:*Storm and Fire Series (dark epic fantasy) - The Storm's Own Son, Mercy of the Prophet*Blood on Bronze (sword and sorcery)*Alien Empire (epic science fiction)*Jamaica Rum (pirate adventure - not sanitized movie pirates)
