This supernatural thriller revolves around the ominous beauty of our coldest and deepest great lake, Superior. Part ghost story, part police mystery, this novel is filled with monsters, history, horror and suspense. In 1952 the S.S. Patterson ore carrier, bound for Duluth, MN, is caught in a November squall and forced to shelter in Keystone Bay at the tip of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. On shore, a local hunting party watches helplessly as the great vessel begins to sink and the willful captain and crew face their doom. Fifty years later, a group of 20-something friends at a campfire party find themselves rescuing drowning men from the icy waters of Keystone Bay. It doesn’t take long to conclude that something isn’t quite right with the mysterious crewmen. Soon, terrifying tragedies start to occur all over the peninsula. Local law enforcement has their hands full with town vigilantes searching for the renegade lake men. A potential terrorist bio threat at the Northern Border is assumed and the CDC and FBI are called in to investigate. What they discover is unsettling. Only one transient girl can halt the reckoning of history. Now she must learn to face her own past and trust her darkest instincts.
