Fire Hawk

As a young man runs through the forest, he looks back to see the blood red eyes of the Indian Devil coming after him. He runs, jumps into the air and changes yes, a Red Tailed Hawk. A few moments later, he passes through a portal and is sent into the past--the first step of his Awakening. The young man remembered, as a boy how hard it was to walk and breath, he had been ill for so long . The Shaman (Indian Medicine Man) healed his body and more. The Shaman gave him his name Fire Hawk. Soon Fire Hawk decides he too wants to become a Shaman, but first he must ask the Shakawl (Shaman Council)  for their approval to become an Apprentice. He must pass a sacred test to demonstrate that he was worthy to learn the secrets of the Shakawl's.  One day Fire Hawk would have to fight the Indian Devils who will do anything to steal a Shaman's powers--including kill.  Fire Hawk's destiny was to become the most powerful Shaman the world has ever known. The boy must follow his Heart and rely on help from his friends to evade the one who tirelessly hunts him before he can find his greatest strength.    Fire Hawk must over come significant challenges to embarked on a spiritual journey to greatness where he discovered his greatest power in life is believing in himself.

About the Author

I started writing my book Fire Hawk The Shaman after the death of myFather. It was my way of coping with his death. His life is where I got my inspiration to write my book. With my father's life story and someof my own. When my father was 5 years old he became ill with polioand the doctors told my grandparents he would probably die. One yearlater he had braces on his legs and three times a day he had to putmedicine in a boiling pot of water and inhale it to be able to breathe. He wasn't expected to live past the age of 18. My grandmother was born on the Still Water Cherokee Indian reservation in Oklahoma. So shetook him to a Shaman even though at that time Shamanism was against thelaw. A mother's love knows no bounds. It took 2 years and when he came home he no longer used the braces or the medicine. After living a full life he died after his 70th birthday. When I was 4 or 5 years old I fell off a roof and suffocated. People called it a near deathexperience and so I am a traveler. I died and came back I wrote aboutit in my book. Growing up every summer my parents took the family todifferent reservations and I also lived on the Hoopa Indian reservation. In Hoopa I met a Shaman and we became friends. On my own I wentout to different reservations to meet Shaman and work with them to learn firsthand from Shaman. I went through sweat lodges to be able toaccurately write about my experiences. I have worked with Shaman andsome Curanderas (Mexican Shaman) in my area to learn from them for mybook. Finely my book is a way for my father to live again as FireHawk The Shaman.
