When newlyweds Roger Mosely and Toni McHenry start their three-week cross-country honeymoon trip they have no idea of the horrific events waiting for them at the many crossroads (the name of the book) along the way. Using his grandfather’s completely restored ruby red customized 1953 Ford Crestline Sunliner convertible, Roger and Toni start out of NYC without a care in the world and the wind in their hair. Roger is on his way to San Diego where he will catch his ship for a six-month deployment to the China Sea. At the first truck stop in New Jersey they discover a worn-out road map in the glove compartment that Roger’s grandparents used sixty years earlier before the Interstate System was completed. His grandfather plotted a course to San Diego to pay a quick, nostalgic visit to the naval station where he was previously stationed during WW2. Roger and Toni decide to follow his grandfather’s route passing through dozens of little towns and stay away from the interstate highways, to see the real America. What they didn’t know was that Roger’s grandfather had the map blessed by his friend’s elderly uncle, a real Haitian Voodoo priest, in order to offer protection along the many lengthy roads. 60+ years later the voodoo blessing is still attached to the map. But there is a slight hitch; at certain crossroads where danger awaits, they will first have to witness the evil from which the blessing protects. During their three thousand mile trip Roger and Toni have to face down ghosts, endure a moment of traveling back in time, being chased inside forgotten sewer tunnels by mutant cannibals, forced to defend themselves from sex crazed cultists, flee from hungry alligators, escape an entire town of fanatical loonies, allow forest trolls to guide them to safety from a group of devil worshippers, run from raging Sasquatches, and all along the way three psychopathic killers driving an eighteen-wheeler harass them from New Jersey to southern California. With no going back, Roger and Toni are forced to take their stand against these three not-so-human truckers in an abandoned ghost town in southern California called, Crossroads, where the mysterious power of the old voodoo blessing is put to the test.
