Life is not that easy when you turn thirteen. You look in the mirror and what do you see? Hey, is that really me? Your body is changing, your hair is changing, your looks are changing. So you, the person inside this strange body, have got to change, too. The cute little girl you were is like yesterday's newspaper, it belongs to the past now. Today's news is that you're a big girl. And, as the song says, Big Girls Don't Cry. But what exactly do big girls do? That's what you've got to find out. You've got a lot to learn. And how do you learn all these things? The usual way is to watch other girls, older girls. Some of them have got it right. It's like they were always Big Girls. The way they talk, the way they walk, the way they brush the hair from their eyes - it's all so cool. Another way - not the usual way to learn all this - is to talk to your horse, if you've got one. Jessica has just turned thirteen and she's got a horse. She's a big girl now - on the outside. She's working on the person inside. It's hard work.
